25JAN Accumulation: 0 Days Since Last Precip: 1

I don't really think Suburban Cable put this here.

We call this....In the Shadow of the Snow

There is strength in numbers.

These two seem to have had a little spat, and are no longer talking.

One could even say the red one is giving the summer thatch chair ...
              the...
                        cold shoulder.

STOP!  Don't even THINK about moving that cone!

...and in the distance, another chair lurks...

24JAN2016: Accumulation: 10ish " Days Since Last Precip:0

The over eager folding chair, anxious from being out of service for over a year, leaps into position even before the space is cleared. For in case a tiny car just scoots in there all sneaky like, ya know...

06JAN2015: Accumulation: < 1" Days Since Last Precip:0

Boy Howdy! What a great way to start the Craptastic Season!  As the Bucket Says:  LET'S DO THIS!

Looking none-the-worse-for-wear, long standing corner summer chair has returned for what promises to be an intriguing and exciting season.

This pylon clearly shows the extreme shoveling effort put forth by its owner.  I'm exhausted just looking at it.

16FEB2014 Days Since Last Precip: 1

A rather artistic collaborative display.

Is it wrong that this chair makes me think of a Lady of the Night?

Daring Fate.  The Bad Boy of SnowCones.

You're doing it wrong.

03JAN2014 Part Deux Accumulation:7.5+ Days Since Last Precip: 1

The mysterious see-through stealth chair.  Spooky.
You can't see me!

Just a chair...chillin'

03JAN2014 Accumulation:7.5+ Days Since Last Precip: 1

The neighbor was placing his cones in an unconventionally wide formation, and surprisingly close to my car (front right).
I heard him explain to his woman that "When she [that would be me] pulls out, you'll end up getting her spot too."
Not so fast, young Buck!  I'm working from home today!  BAM!

Strategic Failure

09DEC2013 Accumulation: 8.5 Days Since Last Precip: 1

SNOW!  After OVER A YEAR, we finally were recipients of measurable snow!  The season started with a sudden and unexpected fall of 8.5" of snow (followed by a night of rain to wash it away).  In a pre-Christmas Miracle of sorts, crap immediately sprouted in the streets to save spots.

The First Sighting.  Quiet, slight in stature, the slightly folded folding chair defends its territory.

A teeny tiny pylon forced into labor  before winter even starts.

08FEB2011 Accumulation 0 Days Since Last Precip: 7

Yes. 7 days. A full week since the last frozen precip, which was by the by a mere coating of sleet and freezing rain.  I fully expected to see no new conage or chairage.  Silly silly me.

Brutalized Cone
Don't know if it'll make it through the winter.
Such a waste to put it out a week late.  Or a week early.

Lonely Metal Folding Chair surrounded by Evil Cars

Character filled summery chair with squarey-leggy things.
In training?

07FEB2011 Accumulation 0 Days Since Last Precip 6

I can't...I can't even BEGIN to explain this.  I would have gotten a side shot as well, but the cop car down the way spooked me a bit.  Didn't want to get a ticket, see.

Three die hard cones in street.  Two cones in waiting.
Yes, these cones have been seen before.
Their tenacity in the face of 44 degree weather makes them noteworthy.

05FEB2011 Donated Crapshot from Chicago Blizzard Zone

Kevin L kindly donated this gentle reminder duct taped onto a Chicago parker's car.  Perhaps Chicagoans (Chicagoites? Chicagoins?) people from Chicago should take a lesson from the possessive Mid-Atlantic folk.  Or vice versa.  Here, you just get shot, or your car is keyed.  Duct tape, however, is not wasted.

02FEB2011 Accumulation 0 Days Since Last Snow/Ice 1

Out with the old, and in with the new!  Quite the upgrade!

Oddly angular brown trash can in front of a house that is very, very secure.
Shot on an angle.  Because that's artistic.
I wonder if a puma lives in the basement.

Stark vinyl chair, also on an angle.
No thoughts of pumas here.

VERY weathered folding chair.

Highly ineffective stealth cone.

29JAN2011 Accumulation 0 Days Since Last Snow 2

The Elusive Urban Sawhorse

Even more rare is the above cone:  the Suburban Sprawl Space Saver.  This home is in  suburban Wilmington.  This is a private residence, not a business.  A private drive, not on-street parking.  Quite the impressive find.

28JAN2011 Accumulation 0 Days Since Last Real Snow 1

Extremely short and uncomfortable looking blue chair with ugly flat cushion.
An observer might think it's one of a kind.

An observer would be wrong.
A lovely pair of uncomfortable looking blue chairs with ugly flat cushions!

Very blue trash can. May have wheels.

Haphazardly placed and distressed chairs.
Patient Chair-in-Waiting on porch.

Soggy Cushy Patterned Formerly Fluffy Chair!
My car was pelted with snowballs during the taking of this shot.

Previously nice wooden kitchen chairs.  Now, water damaged wooden kitchen chairs.

Close up of previously nice wooden kitchen chair.

Lovely matching green iron chairs placed symmetrically around corner.
Truly breath-taking.

Red college furniture.

Teeny Tiny Trashcan.  With lid.

Dirty tray table with precariously balanced wood two by four.
Close up and from a different angle, it remains:  crap.
